The clients at American Financial Planner, Inc. are far more than just clients to us.  For much of our staff, they have become close friends, which punctuates the nature of our service.  The AFP experience is not a one-time quick sale, but instead a long-term relationship.   The following is a sampling of these relationships:

EZ/SZ

Oakland, CA

We started the program in 2006 after hearing about it from our tax accountant.  My husband and I are educators in two of California’s higher education institutions, and we have come to realize that our 403Bs were not sufficient for our retirement, so we chose an estate planning approach to supplement our 403Bs, wherein our mortgage will be paid off and our retirement will be sufficiently funded by the time we retire.

As we live in the Oakland hills, our entire home is surrounded by wood decking (not only for enjoyment, but also for functional access to our home, which has needed replacing for years.  As part of the extracurricular services, Mr. Karren informed us to secure three bids for the decking—the lowest of which was $40,000.  Ron told us to hold out for another year, as the recession would result in much better pricing.  It did.  We had the job done for $18.000.

I could write many stories on how we have saved money tens of thousands of dollars in interest or how our tax-free retirement is coming along.  Needless to say, we are happy with the services we have received and all that we have learned.

RO/RO

West Jordan, UT

We started with Ron back in 2005.  We have paid off our home, and have been on the Deferred Income Account for the tax-free retirement.  I can attest that after being in this after 4 years, the account did far better than what the account was projected to do 4 years earlier.

We have spent many hours with Ron in strategizing our retirement, and to date, everything that we have projected has been on schedule or ahead of projections.

MB/CB

Riverdale, UT

We heard of this program from some friends in 2005 and decided to give it a shot.  We were in a situation where we were struggling just to service our debts.  Through some innovative strategies offered by Mr. Karren, we were able to turn our financial situation around.  In this recession, we have been cut back in hours, and we are behind schedule in paying off our debt, but at least we are comfortable and don’t have the worries we had before discovering these concepts, which have provided us with a safety net during this recession.

Provo, UT

I am a single parent.  I have worked hard my entire life but have found it difficult to make ends meet.  In 2006, a salesman knocked on my door and sold me on these concepts.  I loved the concept of having the ability to pay my home off in one-third the time.

I have since taken up a paper route to enable me to earn more money to speed up the process of eliminating my mortgage—so that I can get going on the tax-free retirement.  Though I only had 11 years left on my mortgage, I will be done in 4.

LF

Oakland, CA

I am an accountant, and came across Ron Karren back in 2006.  I have been on the program and have referred many of my clients to American Financial Planner, Inc. so that they too can save on their mortgage interest, and thereby start on funding their retirement.

GS

Emeryville, CA

I started the program at the recommendation of my accountant.  I am self employed as a psychotherapist, an accomplished poet, and I teach writing at UC Berkeley.  I started the program in 2005, and like what I see.  Being self employed, the S.A.F.T.N.E.T. gives me the flexibility as well as the cushion I need to manage things through the slower times of the year.

I have been able to approach the staff at American Financial Planner and have relied on their advice for refinancing, retirement, as well as other issues.  The fee is negligible when compared to the time and services they have provided for me.
